Hi everyone,
I was coming back from my fifth patrol, and at about 80nm from Kiel, I got the message that I was out of oil. I pushed to the limit since it was not a very successful patrol. I am pretty sure at that point that my IIA stop in the water. I then went submerged to try to get a little bit further (which worked to some distance, got close to zero for battery). At that point I came back to the surface, and I was able to get back to the base with my engine. Is that a bug or we have some kind of reserve? Thanks for any explications. |

It is a glitch in the game....you can recharge and cruise on batteries even though you have no fuel.
Luckily for you though, it seems ![]() |

So it works all the time or I was just lucky that that glitch just worked that time (works from time to time)?
So we can recharge on the surface and the system will make my sub moving ahead on battery even on the surface, or it is because I had enough battery on the surface to cover the 30NM ish left? Thanks |

And so really it is impossible to run out of fuel. Is it?

You can run out of fuel, but you don't run out of batteries (presumably the solar cells or the salinity gradient collectors, or whatever, are fully functional ![]() Pablo

Thank God that our scientists perfected that teletransporter before the British did !

But when I do I always make sure I have enough fuel to get back using medium speeds. I also calc the days that it would take reach home base first so that when I get back I can later open up the Basic file to add the days to time in port. This way the days getting back are figured in to the total.
