Default Wives and Games not compatable

Timing is everything!
I just spent a little over two hours getting myself away from being depth charged and working my way outside and ahead of an Armed Trawler so I could cut back in toward the convoy for another shot.

I had just gotten myself in position & took a long shot at a Liberty Cargo which was at the front and other side of lthe convoy. after that shot I had to quickly turn 30 degrees to starbord & fire at the Liberty cargo loaded with fuel barrels (my main target)...Then left turn quickly 90degrees to & line up for a 45 degree mag shot under the Small merchant which was also loaded with fuel barrels. This shot had to be precise because it was 1200m , rough seas and at a 45degree angle it doesn't give you much wiggle room..
Anyway, I made the turn & was just one degree away from the shot...Man, I was wired with anticipation..The pressure was on...Am I finely going to get a three way sinking? The Far Liberty Cargo just went boom! My guys said "Yea" and the fuel laden Liberty just exploded in a massive fire ball that I could see light up the night sky.
At one degree from shoot time....POW! The damn lights come on full bright in my dark cave like computer hovel, and in comes the wife (she hates my computer) to do some insignificant thing that did not take light...
It startled me, who had tunnel vision. very focused...
A slight twitch of the finger on that red button & there goes my torpedo...
As you may well know by this time...I didn't get my three sinkum. That torpedo passed right under the curved up tip of the bow & just kept on travellen...JUST ONE MORE DEGREE/SECOND!

Now that armed trawler is busten waves to get to me so there is nothing left to do but dive, turn a bit, count to 10 slowly, and save & exit & get my self off to work...

If she had of just been even 1 second later...NOT!

Wives and games just don't fit...

I am thinking this is not a coincidence?

You mentioned in your post that your wife hates your computer.
Could it be that she is trying to tell you something? Like maybe she feels she is having to compete with your gaming activities.

If so, it's time to devote some time to the wife.
Take a night off, skipper, and go do something with your gal.
If it helps, pretend you've got some shore leave.
(If she knows a few phrases in French, even better!)

It's an added responsibility for us married kaleuns.
Sink merchants, yes, but don't sink the relationship.

Have your wife read this. Then she'll understand.

My wife discovered this little essay and realized that everything it said fit me perfectly. Now she has a little insight into my world.

When I played Lord of the Rings Online my fiance thought it was a little, shall we say, nerdy. But I persuaded her to play on my character, Challen Melamin of Nimrodel server, officer in the guild Night Dwellers, she really enjoyed it, and we proceeded in getting her an account and she played with me and became craft master for the guild.

Sometime they need a push in the right direction.

Totally. I resent the "nerd" label, but the rest is perfect :rotfl:

...and no, I don’t hear you when you walk in and ask if we should go to the park tomorrow. I don’t hear you the second time, either. I don’t mean I’m ignoring you because that’d involve using precious brain cycles I need for The Zone… I really CAN’T hear you. That’s how deep I am in The Zone...

OOPS that came close

...no one deserves to be on the receiving end of The Snap. All you were really doing was coming in to see when I was done because we agreed we’d go surfing this afternoon. Still, I got in The Zone and I’m writing this wicked article and WHO ARE YOU AND WHAT DO YOU WANT? The Snap is a glare, a raised voice… something designed to indicate you are PISSING ME OFF with your presence...

That too

That whole essay there is me from end to end. Especially the "Cave" part and the fact that I'm always taking my "Cave" with me whenever we go anywhere !

I'm a nerd. I am proud to admit it and I fully accept it. Nerds are cool though. We're funny and we keep the world interesting for the non-nerds... and without us, most major scientific discoveries would never happen (or at least no role playing, or in my case board war games would get playtime !:rotfl: )
