Default U-409 & U-767

OT I know but..

Just incase anyone is intrested. I have details on the U-Boats the ship my dad was on sunk. He was a sonar operator

HMS Inconstant

U-409
http://uboat.net/boats/u409.htm

U-767
http://uboat.net/boats/u767.htm

I think he has some photos if he does i will scan them in and post them.
He also used to have some stuff that was given to him by survivors of U-409
A packet of cigs and a few other small random things..

He gave them away to the Imperial war museum because the staff there had never seen kirgsmarine issue cigerets before. Mabye he had the last surviveing packet. They were almost intact and never opened.

If I can find pics i will post them..

Love to see the pics from your dad. Even if you don't have pics, maybe you could share a couple of your Dads sea stories with us.......

Hope you recored what your father said about the war patrols he was part of. So much history is being lost with the passing of the vet's who lived it.
