"I need torpedoes, a few bottles of wine and 40 baguettes," I answered while saluting the Old Man. "I'm going to torpedoe you! You're supposed to return to Willi." "I've heard we beat the French." "Ja, and I'm having nice peace and quiet here, without you louts bothering me." "Enschuldigung, Herr Admiral. I'll get drunk quietly." "Quietly? You can't wiggle waggle out of this one. I'm transfering all your friends here so that they can drink you into the poor house. 171,607 tonnes deserve a celebration and the drinks are on you!" Shrug--Everyone is invited!!

 !My next patrol was not so hot. It started great. Then, a troop transport opened fire on me (Oct. 1940) with heavy guns and flack. I escaped badly damaged and returned for repairs

Actualli , I put into Lorient for supplies at the end of patrol ,before it became a base.
