Default I have a question about mods

Will a mod work if you try to use the Jones tool to set it up,even tho it wasn't written for the Jones mod?I been doing some changing around of my mods, and I tried to install them manually.I obviously missed something,as the thermalizer mod didn't work.As I recall, the longer battery life didn't appear to work either.I don't understand much about how the mods work, but I'm sure thankful for them.I would appreciate any inputs. Thanks in advance for any help.

Mods should work fine if you manually install. As you said, perhaps you missed something, which is easy to do so Jones installer is the best way to go....especially since it's so easy to try a mod and then remove it if you change your mind. And I think any mod can be made Jones friendly.

The answer to your question is yes, you can (and should) use the Jones tool for any mod. The trick is 95% just learning what goes where. If you want to change a file in Data/Library/ you place the new copy in MODS/MyNewMOD/Data/Library/ Then you use JSGME to copy that directory structure over the live files in Data/Library/, which also allows you to roll it back with the click of a button.

It's beautiful, especially if you have spent any major time doing it manually

c:\sh4\ Data\-Path-\original files
c:\sh4\ MODS\Modname\Data\-Path-\modified files

Inside of c:\sh4\MODS you can have 100's of different Mod directories, ready to overlay on the live game. JSGME manages them for you, all you have to do is place them properly.
