Wow - things are going down the tube over there. I think this will also happen in the US at some point.

We had a massive row over e-voting a few years ago. Spent 50m euro on it, then junked the lot.
*sigh*

I suppose we never hear anything good about them, because good voting news has nothing to do with the methods :hmm:

Should I dig out that Diebold quote? :p

Might as well. But yeah, ours are pretty pathetic. ANyone walking around with a flash drive and buys a key to it off the internet (They sell them on the internet) can modify these things in about 30 seconds. ALl you would have to do is change over 10th vote or so and no one would be the wiser. Give me back my paper ballots please!

I think a lot of places in the United States are going back to paper ballots for the next presidential election.

i hope they do. These E-voting machines are simply a company shoving them down our throat to make a quick $$$.

I think that you should need to represent yourself in person when you vote. And then it should be represented by a tangible mark that can be verified by a human being.

In Canada its simple. You put an 'X' in the circle and thats it. No dangling chads or connect the lines or digital displays.

Its hard enough to get people to think about voting. I don't see why we need to complicate it anymore. Sometimes the status quo works just fine.

Does the French Parliament amend the constitution using E-vote machines or by ballot?

If the politicians themselves don't use E-voting, why should we?!
