Uhmmmm....the pin up girls are certainly more tame then what is spread all over the internet/TV/magazines. In fact, the pin-up girls leave a lot to the imagination were as todays media leave nothing at all to the imagination. I have never heard a women complain about a pin-up girl from a era gone by. Now, lay out the latest from the adult video store or Penthouse....then you have an upset women on your hands.
As far as Pimp and Pimpette......call me what you want....just do not call me late for dinner ![]()

Hello everyone,
I now consider the use of the phrase "pimps and pimpettes" to be wrong. My point was this: "Use discretion when posting what you post. This is a public site, not private." I want to hear what ladies, who have a presence here, think about this stuff. No poster in this thread said they were a woman. hellas1 |

Now, Penelope Grey who plays SH3 is about 20 years old and smokes cigars. She has never found anything offending on the pin-up for the uboats. She is super nice to talk too. Again, if they are totally into it then it usually is not an issue. Brings me to my question....You want to hear it from the ladies...to what end?

. . . . . . . . . . . Hey, this is "the internets". You can pretend to be anybody. ![]() Really man, there is some serious and gross stuff happening out there in this world. Your percieved discrimination against women on a subsim website is *not* one of them. Take a chill pill. ![]() Is this how they indoctrinate people today in public schools? Look, the Nazis usually had no boobs on their airplanes, but children friendly Mickey Mouses, Teddy Bears and what not. Political Correctness right there. Sure the Nazi leaders got a huge bonus for that once in hell. In fact, if I were a woman, by now I would probably be offended by being put into victimhood in such a moronic discussion. "Hey, are you not offended by boobs on a Thunderbolt? Are you not? Hey, speak up please, will ya? Are you not?" :rotfl: Anyway. I like this one: ![]() |

Note: she did not just 'scrape' the car against a pole. She managed to jam the pole into the car so hard that the panel has to be beaten back out again, filled and repainted.
![]() But I forgive her. ![]()

I agree with the historic effect here. Our men went to battle with many female art forms. Wether it be on the nose of aircraft, on the ship, or on the ground.
It is HISTORY, I have yet to see any crude links or pics from this site. I myself love the girl art from the wars. If you want to be historically correct, it happened, and that is the way it was and is. I see no harm in this action to post pics from the history we all know here. Just my opinion only, no harm is meant by how I feel.

Not sure, but after reading hellas1's post's, I can't help but get the feeling that he'd really get bent out of shape if we had pics with a Swastika on it, claiming that it is a hateful symbol and it should not be used because it "may" offend someone here.
What may not seem appropriate today, does not change the fact that it was still part of history. It was this thinking that caused Sim Developers to not use the historic symbol on German WW2 aircraft (without a MOD or patch) cough..UBI..cough. Same thinking caused museums to paint over the Swastika on historic aircraft. Again, my point is, just because it may not be acceptable now, does not change the fact that it's historic. As long as the pin ups and even the Swastika are used in the proper context for the time period, I'm 100% in favor of them in Sims.

I must admit to being sympathetic to the OP's overall motivation. While I'm 100% for realism, I still abhor the notion that any segment of the population should be treated differently/poorly because of skin colour, sex or any other superficial difference. But one of the great things about historical simulations is that they often show the naive and reactionary nature of such prejudices. When we can compare our modern life with a simulation of a world of years ago we often see how plain stupid rules based on prejudice can be. Historical simulations can bring these issues to life in a way that no book or film can do.
On the specific issue of sex/nudity though, I take issue with the OP's stance. Nudity is not wrong, nor is sex. The portrayal of females in a state of undress demeans the female only in a mind that is already corrupted in some puerile way. The unclothed female form is demeaning to no female, just as the unclothed male form is demeaning to no male. The human form is beautiful because it is natural. 1940s nose art and pin-ups were a celebration of beauty, not an exercise in debauchery.
