Regarding some bizarre threads and posts around here!

:|\\

I've noticed that the threads here run from great to bizarre and that posts range from "Uncooked" to "Burnt to a crispy" (I saw "Burnt to a crispy" at a Chinese place here in N.H. It was a typo and was removed by the restaurant) insofar as post content is concerned ethically.

I've fully concluded that using my intro phrase "sub pimps and pimpettes" is wrong ethically in posting.
Another example of wrong posting:
What the does a scantily clad pinup girl have to do with sinking Battleships, Merchant ships, interception, shooting down airplanes? :hmm:

My idea was that this place was gender inclusive and relaxed, fun and understanding, hence my use of my former introduction in posting.
It seems that there are NO ladies posting here and I don't know what they thought about it.
If there are, I want you to speak up.

Anyway, Having guys posting overt female sexual stuff on a public forum isn't good and should be curtailed.
Gentlemen, You should PM each other instead IMO.

Morale.

Let the boys know what they were fighting for.

Historic.

Here are two shots of nose art from a P 51 Mustang and a B 26 Invader.

I have a collection of black and white photography prints of pinup girl artwork from the noses of WW2 aircraft hanging in my room. No girlfriend or female friend of mine has ever been offended by them. In fact, I've recieved nothing but compliments on them.

I think you might be going a bit far on this one. Pinup girls were part of WW2. :yep:

Sorry but woman today should be offended by Paris Hilton, not some classy gal from 1942.

Pin up art from the 40s are very welcome by me!

No offense, but its nuts to be offended by something like that.

Bingo!

Looks like the Pin-Up, errr "Moral Office"... thread found a new home!

Operation Petticoat:

(in the words of Chief Malumphry - "if you wanna know what you're fightin' for - there's your answer") :D

Referring to the community as "sub pimps and pimpettes" is bizarre IMO
but then Im not into hip hop or rap and geez Im 40 something so yes I
think thats bizarre, but to each his own...I think we all know the greeting
was meant as a good thing...but posting this and inferring that we are perverted
in some way because we like pin ups is, well even more bizarre...just let it go
who cares.

Hey Hellas,
Seeing that you have been here a short time, there are in fact a number of "Ladies" who are in this forum. Probably busy on Sh4 as we speak.
I think your use of pimps etc., was in jest. And I'm sure most here would feel that way.
As for pinups, they had been in use for a long time as morale boosters in the all Male navy...........times have changed by the PC world.....Don't think that's the best thing....there will always be a difference between genders.......and I love the difference.............
Personally I think you were trying to be PC or you never would have started using "pimp" in the first place

WWII. American Servicemen. Bette Grable, Yavonne DeCarlo, Carol Lumbard, just to name a few. Hubba hubba:up: No other service in the world had that much freedom. Look at some of the noseart that appeared on B-17's, and B-24's. There was a lot of area to cover on those planes.

For whom I perceive to be a guy standing up to defend women's dignity when no women have so much as made 1 complaint since I've been posting seems bizarre :hmm:

Now, if Avon Lady or Penelope Grey posts here, thanking you for standing up all women, I'll see your point but until that happens, just accept the fact that those here for whom are mostly guys, many with military back ground do prefer the settings on either their aircraft, subs or ships to look correct for the time period.

I am sure some here may want a picture of the latest playboy playmate on their sub but so far no one has posted that picture. What you do see are time period pictures. Pictures that at any given time on any given military craft, could have been found either stashed somewhere or out on display. Even the Army Air Corps / Air Force allowed pin ups to be painted on parts of plains and bombs. I figure if it was ok for the U.S. Military since WWI, why do you have a problem with it now. There are a lot worse things and people that came out of WWII that people don't promote here.

Now, it's possible that the women here may have, or wanted to swap out all the female pin ups on their subs for pics of guys but I doubt it. Though if they had a picture with the sailors on the bridge and a male pin up in the back ground, the 1st thing that would come to mind would be the Village People must be on patrol. :rotfl:

Now if a MOD could be made with an all female crew, I'd be happy. Though a mixed crew would not be historically correct but I would not complain about that either.
