My first BB! Very nice.

Sailing off Cornwall I was trying to catch a medium speed large convoy. Just as I decided I couldn't intercept, another convoy appeared heading right for me. Went to 20m, silent running at 1 kt. Slowly everything approached, a C&D destroyer passed close and then moved off. I came to periscope depth in the middle of the convoy. Was quite excited as I'd seen contacts for several large merchants and a large tanker. Then got really excited when a Revenge class BB appeared!

Not taking any chances I got into a great position, fired all 4 bow tubes and slowly descended into the depths. All 4 steam torpedoes hit and sure enough a few minutes later the 31000 tonner slid under the waves! With just a couple of torpedoes left I decided against another run at the merchants and slipped away past another DD.

What a great feeling to nail that Revenge!

Wait until America joins the war and then go for a patrol on the Eastern Coast towards Florida. You can usually find an Essex or two there.

Watch out for planes though. Hehe. Or, if you're lucky, running along the shelf from Scotland down toward Ireland there is usually a Taskforce there with a Carrier. It's my luck, I run into them all the time but I'm usually on my way home with no torps.

I just nailed my first BB too, Gunther Prien is going to be upset...t'was the HMS Royal Oak!

I was going to take a picture but was too busy trying to avoid the escorts which were pinging me, on top of the two tankers I sunk there was a wale factory ship which refused to sink, I ran out of fish too (half of them were duds!!!! unbelievable lol I was so angry).

I got my first carrier too, only an escort carrier mind...but a carrier non the less! (In my other career, May 1944 type XXI U-2511)

i remember my first BB i was sailing home with 1 bow and 2 stern fish remaining.
i was passing west of ireland and i got a contact report of a warship heading straight for me, i dive to pd and wait for it/them to come. eventually they came and in the convoy was the HMS rodney. i miss calculted the distance i would be from the rodney by the time she reached my position though, so as the rodney was passing my bow it was 3000 away. i thought sod it and fired my last bow fish. all hell broke loose and all the dds in the convoy came hunting me. i dive down to 230m silent running and make an escape.
about 5mins later i get "torpedo impact"

wtf??!! it hit the rodney at that distance!! after about 3 hours the dds leave and head away i stay under for another hour and then come to pd depth. looking around i see a sillhouette of a ship (weather real bad) i lockon and against all odds its the rodney, speed 0knts!!
i must have hit her screws or engine room as she was listing rather badly. i come about and fire my last 2 stern fish itnto each ammo bunker and under she went. i feel i was really really lucky to stop her with one fish at that range.

Mooncatt, one shot to stop the Rodney sounds lucky to me but what the heck, you make your own luck so they say! Excellent result anyway.
