Confused on Irish/French Status

I thought Ireland was neutral - but I see in the updated GWX flaggen sheet they are allied all the way through the war. I've certainly let some truly fat, multi-tanker, completely unescorted Irish convoys go right by me.

Likewise, I always assumed that after France (not Free France) was conquered they were to be considered neutral, but the flaggen sheet says they are allied from 26/8/40 to 31/12/45.

Can someone help me out here?

No they are both typos
Been bought up already and in hand to fix

Ireland is nuetral throughout
France is allied 3 Sept 39 till 25th June 40 and 26th Aug 44 till war end

Neutral my ass! Crash your allied plane in the Eire and we polished it and handed it back after giving you breakfast. Crash your german plane and you had yourself interned for the duration. Mind you we did have an allied army camped across the border in the north and the army didn't have enough guns to go round!

From what I have read the allied pilots were allowed to " disappear " over the border but the Irish kept the aircraft for themselves

Tis a sticky subkect the Irish in WW2 where nuetrality is concerned
Lots of breakages for both warring sides

Eire did not get off totally scot-free. One set of lost German bombers mistook Cork for Cardiff and bombed it. Dublin was also lightly bombed on a number of occasions. On each occasion, the Eire government swallowed hard and let it pass.

Again, Eire viewed its policy of neutrality with some artistic license. For example it permitted British and US planes to overfly county Donegal on their way to bases in Fermanagh and when British airmen crashed in Eire they were quietly escorted to the border, while German pilots were interned

What about Greece? After Germany occupied Greece all Greece ships were considered hostile,right? When I encountered a small Greece convoy and sunk the armed tug the sunken ship symbol was blue (friendly).

That's impossible. I sunk loads of Greek ships in GW/GWX and they all appear as enemy after April 1941. Are you sure the ship was greek? Do you have a screenshot?

It was after April '41 and the ships flew a white flag, with a blue cross and some blue, horizontal stripes. That's the Greece flag,isn't it?

Sorry for asking but we did a lot of Beta Testing with GWX and we never encounter this problem. Where did you sink the ship (which area I mean) and what year?

As far as I know the servicable allied planes were recovered and handed over at the border. Allied pilots were interned for a very short period before repatriation. Read about a British pilot who escaped from the internment camp at the Curragh and got across the border to Northern Ireland. He was promptly brought back to the border and handed over to the Irish army who put him back in the camp where he was 'sent to coventry' by his fellow prisoners for disrupting the arrangements! Know of one example towards the end of the war where a JU-88 landed and the British insisted on the plane being handed over for scientific analysis which it was

That's the flag. I think it must have been between June '41 and February '42 off the coast of Spain.

By god we were a military force to be reckoned with! No wonder we were'nt messed with during the Emergency.
Besides I said servicable planes were returned not that we didn't knock together a few out of bits we found lying around!

It was an armed vessel and I'm pretty sure it was an armed tug and the flag looked like the flag of Greece (it was dark and hard to recognize). Was the flag of Greece included in the flag recognition manual (pre GWX 1.02)? Cos I didn't find it back then.:hmm:
