Out of curiosity, how did you get recruited/apply... and do you get paid or is it more just a priveledge?

The Devs make the call. It's a priveledge. It's a great mix of hard work and game play. The Devs expect constant and accurate feedback. Ironically, some of the gaming websites give more away due to their brief 'hands on' of the game than the Beta Testers are permitted to do because of the strict non disclosure agreement agreed to by any Beta Tester.

For those speculating about specs though, I will say that I have a mid range system with a P4 3.0 processor, an XFX 256MB GeForce 7600GT video card and 2 GIGs of system RAM, and I run the unoptimized Beta version of the game at the highest graphical settings with no issues at all.

I can't comment on specifics of the game.

SHII ?!?! Must stop the bad memories.

Serously tho', I never could get into that one - despite all of the fine work done by the modding community - it was just so - sterile.

A privleidge that, unfortunatly, i really don't have the proper time to devote to right now. Needless to say, the last email i got from an Ubi address went unanswered. I know i'll regret that, but, i simply dont have the time or dedication right now to give it the attention it deserves. Truth be told, im burnt out. I think im going to take a sub simming until sh4 goes retail - burnout's a bitch.

Appreciate that, TDK. That's a somewhat helpful benchmark.

Again, many thanks.

It's just a rumor, no gold yet, right?

We can't let it get us down ...

Think postive, they're going to give us IJN subs to practice on ...

Maybe a demo or something around mid-March ...

Something!

Anything!

I gotta go lay down now ... I'm getting too old for this waiting stuff ...

Just fire up those trusty old diesels on your u-boat and patrol the Atlantic. That'll help with the waiting game, won't it?

@ TDK,

Thank you for your candor, and while I do not worry too much about my own system spec's to run SHIV. I find myself confused with your statement; "unoptimized".

With your stated system, which is quite high IMO. The added "unoptimized" is a qualified statement.

I remember the same statement added to Crysis at the E3 show. Although i think in that regards, it was implied that the optimized setup was for multithreading and in particular, the use of DX 10, non of which really applies to SHIV in any great bounds.

Regards,

Loose lips sink ships?

Sorry, I couldn't resist. It seemed befitting with the name of the forum and all.

Nothing was stated that wasn't already put in the public domain by a gaming website.
