I don't think that the tables turned on Gizzmoe, in fact I think that he might have thought it a good idea to have this in one thread rather than dotted around in others.

Rather cunning in fact to have one thread devoted to this disscusion so responses won't have to be repeated.

Gizzmoe's moderating style is not going to please everyone. My moderating style did not please everyone, which is why Gizz stepped in to help. I was told the GT forum did not have enough moderation--Drebbel and Bram were MIA, and I prefer a very light touch. When Brad, AL, Mike, and others got a fiery thread going a few months back, Mike got mad and left and several members said there needed to be more moderation in the GT forum. This includes people who regularly get fiery threads going.

So I asked Gizz to help. I gave him ban power because right now I am really busy with my job and the Subsim Project. He can "ban" people if they are too disruptive after following the moderator guidelines and he routinely lets me know. Of course, what is "too disruptive"? That is very subjective, and each of us has his own opinion. But I don't see how we can moderate a forum by committee. So SOMEONE has to make the call--is Member Joe making too many posts and getting everyone angry? Is Member Joe posting porn images? Is Member Joe posting 5 "My new rant" threads every day?

I'm open to suggestions but not experiements.

Really, and without any sh**, he is better than most moderators i have seen on other Forums. I really wouldn't want someone else in charge who is not able to look at things objektive, and how a moderator has to.

Gizzmoe, i think i am one of the few to back you up on this poll.

Of course not everyone likes Gizzmoe. He's a moderator, and most people don't like moderators. But without them, this forum would be utter chaos.

So, please, don't touch the good working system with de-stabilisizing "reforms".
