Pointless poll. I know that some people think that I´m not doing enough, some think I´m doing it just right and some think that I´m overmoderating the forum. Some want to see more censorship, some less, some none at all.

It´s almost impossible for a moderator to take the public opinion into account (even the praises), the opinions are too varied. Feedback is important, I do note those opinions, and I discuss certain aspects with Neal. He´s my best critic, and ultimately it is only his opinion that counts for me.

Well imagine a board such as one i visit where their are no such thing as moderators the posters are the moderators if you dont like a post, 10 ppl must vote it off before it gets deleted, trouble is you have no choice but to make friends and join a group - then it gets really silly as its group versus group, then the arguments flood in on who voted who off. Then it gets real nasty, the pro westeners will vote of the pro muslims and vis versa and then theirs us in the middle that just want to post! ACtually i only go their cause its a well known trading site in NZ the guy who started up TradeMe 8 yrs ago on his own, programmed his own site had to borrow money to start, sold it last yr for 700million to voda. Hes 28 yrs old and 700million richer! :o We all thought maybe Voda will bring on moderators but its still the same.

Give me moderators anyday!

I voted "OK". Truth is, if your not willing to take on the job, you shouldn't complain how someone else does it. I'm sure it's quite time consuming. I wouldn't want to do it. It would take away too much beer time.:()1:

What is the point of this thread? I thought Gizzmoe stated that public voting and opinion of his moderating was not allowed unless done via PM.

This means that we should not do public polls on him and that we should continue to send the nasty secret messages about him behind his back to one another. :p

That´s right, but I can make exceptions.

Perhaps that's the problem. The capriciousness leaves folks wondering. An example is the question in another thread;

I see lots of "Keelhaul" votes against Gizzmoe. This is amazing! The truth is finally being told. I'm willing to bet some of the more positive votes were casts by people too afraid to go against his dictatorship, oops, I mean't moderatorship! :roll:

I think you guys need to get off Gizzmoes back. He's doing a fine job, especially compared to other sites.

If he gets pissed off and quits, then i'm volunteering and believe me you don't want that... :yep:
