Each patrol I learn a little bit more about managing my crew tweaking along the way. Here I demonstrate what has been working well for me now that I have seven officers. For me having one lead officer set aside for Navigation has been key. Come and see.

I agree. Having one navigation officer is to me more useful than having an extra engineeer. I know some swear by having 3 engineers and all power to them but to me, having that navigation officer who can also load torpedos while being rested enough to do the occational targeting and being on station during alarm has proved to be the most useful.

I'd rather that the game had a fully staffed submarine but I find 3 leaders, 3 engineers and 1 speakerhead who spends most of his time sleeping is best.
