SOS Wolves of Steel freezing

Greetings
I have a non steam version of SH5 gold installed with WOS installed the load screen shows loading ok but the game will not not start and is blacked out and needs to be closed manually with task manager as it shows SH5 non responsive

Thanks for the Reply but unfortunately it did not fix the issue.. the game still freezes and becomes unresponsive with the main sound track looping

You may have a corrupted installation?
What SH5 version do you have?
Download
Dvd
Steam download.

Have you checked your gpu drivers are up to date?
Check that your graphic card settings are correct.

Did Direct X install correctly if not then you can download this one.

1. Wait a bit more. My game takes about 1-5 minutes of the looping sound to start.
2. If half an hour passed and it still won't start, check the sticked posts with guides.

Hi Yarman, What you have described has happened to me ,I,ve lost 2 careers over this . My game is with DVD and I,ve opted to play OFFLine ,but we all have to register with Uplay (I think) The last time this happened I pressed the WINDOWS button and in the task bar were 2 small windows , 1 with SH5 in ,the other with a BLACK screen and a message which read THIS GAME IS RUNNING IN ANOTHER ACCOUNT, I thought that's funny cos there is no one else that uses this PC, so maybe is Uplay the cause . So I disconnected the browser and fired up SH5 and up to now I,ve had no trouble , I have TDW new UIs installed and not WOS, you might have a different set up than me but it might help you get it fixed. cheers H

5 minutes? half an hour?
A minute or so from game start to main menu with prehistoric PC here...

And especily thanks for the help (wife wont be happy)
Amazing mod nice to hear a non translated version again with working TDC and torpedo fire control as well I hope the deck gun amo has been modded to an appropriate yield... mind you was hilarious to see a couple of armor piercing and high explosive rounds cut a 7.2 ton freighter in half
very refreshing to see a community being non judgmental and helpful

I have SSD, i7 and for sure takes more than 1 minute

LOL I start the game ... go to the kitchen start a coffee start a snack.... return... enable the save game... go to back to the kitchen... get my coffee and snack...return.. get set up... couple more seconds for UBI to load cloud... Play.. realistically about 3 to 5 min...
