Default Old Photographs of Modern Soldiers

I found this concept fascinating.

You beat me to it I had stumbled across this the other day but had forgotten to post it.

Yes very interesting to see someone using tin type. Its interesting to see such a modern subject shown this way. There's something about monochrome espically when the subject is modern that I like. I guess you notice details that you do not notice in a color photograph.

I wonder dose anyone notice something about each photo? An attention to detail test.

I especially like the one of the technical sergeant and the capatian knealing. Looks to be a USAF pararesuce unit.

Brilliant idea, and brilliant execution.

They are all mirrored. I can't really tell it that's also the case in the UH-60 pic though. What's the thing above the moustache guy's head?

In general I think the effect looks much better in character-focused photos than in the ones with too much modern equipment. The small pic in the top right and the second large picture with the black soldier look absolutely amazing. If they had the right uniforms and weapons you'd think they just hopped out of the 19th century into today.

I married Nancy in Gettysburg, Pa.
We have pictures with my old friend Eddie Murphy beside me.
He was my best man.

In the top photo? That is the hoist for the basket/jungle penetrator. Its usually on the port side(pilots) of course as you observed tin type flips the image.

Would certainly be interested in seeing more of this work on multiple subjects
