Default Weird, I guess they can be called artifacts on load up

This is likely a memory issue, but I am having this odd problem. When the actual sim loads up (you are on the boat), the screen is obscured by multiple things like , dialog screens, gauges, buttons, and what not. I would love to post a screen shot, but that is failing for me through flickr. These things make the game unplayable. I am running Steel Wolves with the TDW settings for standard SH5 interface controls. The "artifacts" though look like older styled gauges, and buttons.

Any idea what this could be, an how to remedy this? Search of the forums revealed no similar issues.

Is your game's version 1.2?

Oh yea. Couldn't install steel wolves with out it. It seems to have cleared up now. But it was weird and I am sure it is likely to happen again.

Ok, I am trying to post a pic of these artifacts as they happened again. Is Subsim no longer alowing posting from Flickr? I can't seem to get the images to post.

That sounds a lot like the issue I had a couple of times. I found it was caused by accidentally deleting TDWDraggables.dll. I was supposed to delete Pagelayout_Draggables.TDW to bring back the SOAN.

Hope that helps but it sounds like your issue went away.

The copy of steel wolves that I have is the patched up version, and nothing has been changed. This issue is intermittent though, and annoying. LOL. I think it is memory related, though it is also new.

Try to repeat step 6 from the install instructions...

This afternoon I discovered what may have been the issue. Not only was my backup program (carbonite) running in the backround, but also my machine was down loading the latest windows update. This is likely the reason for the odd behavior. We shall see.
