Man offers burglar cuppa

Quote:
An intruder who woke up a couple in Sweden during a bungled break-in enjoyed a coffee with his intended victims while they waited for the police.

Try that in the UK....NOT!

Default The junkman cometh

Actually if you do catch a bandito ya don't get mad, get even but keep the .9mm in yer waistband; point out what you want removed...the old toaster, The fire-hazard Mr Coffee maker, the old telly, that out-of-date stereo, that zircon bauble you never should have given her anyway...(yup some of us still do vinyl and chintz'd on our sweethearts); done properly, he should be perspiring from exertion... and nervous relief at not involving the 'machinery of the state' in such triviality. On his last trip out, thank him politely... and sit down at the table to fill out an insurance claim inventory report...the reimbursement to cover some of the cool new stuff you really want anyway;...then call the cops. Then round up your local alarm installer and bribe him for a yard sign and a few window stickers that say: "protected by Acme Protection"...future bad guys, scopin' the 'hood will select your neighbor instead.(tips from a 70's former alarm-agent)this actually works..bad guys prefer easy swag! not risky plunder.

Don't forget the Breville toasted sandwich maker, there's always one of them lurking in dark corners of the kitchen...

Default Beau Brummel at 0200 clanking in the dark

Actually no! the removable plates double as gothic style armor when tucked into your Velcro work-place backsupporter as you close in with the very large Paella skillet (doubles as truncheon or shield) in one hand and the fire poker in the left...underneath the wife's hastily grabbed house coat-sort of a coat-of-plates effect(poor man's getup) as depicted by Mel in Braveheart...belly armor at it's lowest common denominator...nothin' ever goes out of style! I was shocked by those young ladies thin waist belts with a big belt angled across the hips just a few years back which was trendy...in 1066 at Hastings!; and the WWII winter wool GI (under the helmet)issue hat has made a tremendous comeback too...60 years later!

Been reading a old news item where a similar thing happen in the UK but the burglar turn down the offer of a cup of tea as the house owner had no Jammie dodgers!

BTW: He left empty handed, read it in a magazine while waiting to see the doc.
