Default Cyclone Ian intensifies to Category 5

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2014-01-1...inds-t/5195038

Tonga looks like bearing the brunt of it. I foresee a significant aid mission required to get them back to normal if the damage is severe. Cat 5 is a biggie. Hope they've battened down the hatches and there is no loss of life.

A little over 3,000 mile distant...pleased the old colony shouldn't be affected (many friends and family there) but sad for those islanders.

The implicit terror of a Cetgory 5 is quite diminished by calling it....Ian.

Well, it's better than "Bawbag", which induced hilarity in Scotland, the land where Ball rhymes with raw (and also Glass is a verb).

And better than Trevor. There is a large Tongan community a couple of suburbs away from my home and their church has been full every night for the past few days.
