Tonga looks like bearing the brunt of it. I foresee a significant aid mission required to get them back to normal if the damage is severe. Cat 5 is a biggie. Hope they've battened down the hatches and there is no loss of life.

A little over 3,000 mile distant...pleased the old colony shouldn't be affected (many friends and family there) but sad for those islanders.

Well, it's better than "Bawbag", which induced hilarity in Scotland, the land where Ball rhymes with raw (and also Glass is a verb).

And better than Trevor. There is a large Tongan community a couple of suburbs away from my home and their church has been full every night for the past few days.
