<O>
Cast iron cleans easy. Just a little hot water, a Brillo pad and some elbow grease.

Can't use that on a non-stick.
Besides, organic matter won't stick if the iron is seasoned right.

Good lord, you have obviously given the matter some thought. Is this knowledge empirical and, if so, were you on the receiving end?...

Default Happy Home

A home is what you make it.

Here's wishing you and yours a Merry Christmas in your new digs.

I remember my first home. I went into the back yard and thought to myself,
"I could dig a big hole here and nobody could tell me off about it!"

I didn't, but the thought was "mine...all mine".

Hey, we were going to hold the first annual SubSim barbecue and mud run at Frau K's corral. Buuut, she said the HOA would frown upon it.

Can we hold it at your place? I like Canada.

From my own meeting with a Cast Iron skillet?
Only thing that flattened out was my five head!

The ringing goes away if the divorce papers are filed correctly.

Not an option in my case;

Sam'n'Carrot are at the vet again, dropped off this morning to be neutered, declawed, microchipped, and get their last set of kitten vaccinations. I won't have them back until tomorrow or maybe Saturday.

After that they will have to stay in the mudroom 24/7 until the end of the month.

And I had to shut them in there last night after taking all their noms and water away. I got a decent night's sleep without them bouncing on and off the bed until midnight, but I still felt awful.

On the plus side, having them confined will be a chance to get some more stuff done in the place without them distracting me or deciding that whatever I'm working on or with is a toy they should bat around until it disappears into the most inconvenient hidey-hole they can find.

On the minus side, after paying the vet bill I probably won't have any money to spend on projects.

Try looking at it from their point. First you starve them, then take 'em to the vet to get the gonads cut off, then take out their revenge creators and jabbed to boot.

Called to check on them this afternoon and they both made it through the surgeries fine, they had just finally woken up completely from the anesthesia so they put them back in the same kennel (I mentioned this morning that they REALLY don't like to be involuntarily separated) and they had curled up next to each other and gone back to sleep.

Bandages from the declawing will come off tomorrow morning and if they don't have any spotting/bleeding during the day I can pick them up after work. I've already got the special litter in their box, had to turn off the automatic rake-thingy because it won't work right with that stuff in there. So that means Mommy will be doing a lot more poo scooping and litter changing for the rest of the month, which only seems fair after what they've been through.

Hardest part was that this morning when I went out to check on them, they weren't even mad at me. They just wanted to cuddle and play after a night with no food and water and being stuck in the mudroom. Of course they're cats so it could all be part of some elaborate guilt trip scheme they hatched up overnight...
