Battle of Eastern Solomons (This is awesome, pictures!!)

After failing to find the battle of midway I thought I would find my luck with the Eastern Solomons..


Its Aug 24th 1942 5am and my radar guy finds some contacts.. I quickly dive to about a 100 feet and start to make my approach, sure enough I see on my hydrophones there are dozens of ships..



As I get closer and move to Periscope depth I notice something familiar with these ships..

Sure enough! I surface and what do I see?



YEP!!!

They are all American ships!! woot!!

Pretty damn accurate too from the real battle information..







I hope this guy here protects me






Almost all the exact ships are here (Thanks TMO/RSRD)

I'm following them around, hoping I will see some action, I'll report back

I'm right in the middle of them all


and I bet if planes come, they will still focus me, lol

HAHAHA HELLS YEA!!!!

So after time advancing a bunch I kinda fell behind and sure enough once that happened..


TONS AND TONS OF CONTACTS!!!



I zoom to some of the DD's to make sure they're defending..

sure enough!





go back to my boat and i'm swarmed , I spot these all around me



I quickly order General Quarters , my men quickly get up and start running to their positions..

Of course I had my moron cooks manning the flak gun at first, so I quickly changed them around.

And they were shootin!



I know its stupid of me to stay on the surface, but I don't wanna lose sight of my friends, so I'm making a dash to catch up, lol

Sure enough my good crew management payed off



They weren't happy, lol and they were attacking me hard!



before I knew it I was bingo on ammo

at this point, I'm kinda upset, we have two carriers out there full of birds and... wait, whats this!!

hell yea!

A quick look up and its little friends!






I follow him for a bit, just to see how much was done to this game, My mouth is still open in shock when I saw this



the darn tail gunners actually work!!! WOOT!!

and they aren't bad either





Time to go back and check damage

Thats it so far, I'm still surfaced now next to the carriers, I'm following them around but I doubt I'll see any jap ships as I should probably be in front

Very nice pictures! I always hate going through the Solomons because of all the Japanese planes around but it looks like you got lucky.
