Scratch built? From plans? Boxed with directions? Slide tab A into slot B sort of thing? What?

Looks great! (Except the 3 man goalie line, but hey, I'm old school)

Kit form with lots of screws, nuts and bolts and a set of instructions that wasn't quite right.

Took a while to decipher where the instructions were wrong and some undoing of the previous doing and then redoing it after putting the missing or incorrectly placed step into the process.

Figures were machined and part of the kit.

It looks good, much better than the plastic ones. Looks solid also - if you din't forget to tighten the screws...

However I have to agree with Osmium: one goalie is sufficent!

And what material is the flooring made of? A good flooring can make an enormous difference, not only in speed, but also in handling the ball.

The playing surface is some sort of laminate with a textured finish which gives the ball a bit of grip. The board the laminate is on is just plain old particle board.

damned, took me a while:
"hmm, what's so funny about a carpet on a foosball table?", till I looked at the pic again...

*writes 1000 times "I will say playing surface"*

But you don't drink, which is a big advantage regarding foosball. Although it is a pub sports, I am doing only OK when I am sober till half-sober. At later stages I miss the slowmo button

Does it have the traditional banked corners or a completely flat playing area?

My wife bought one for the grandkids that is flat and I think it came with 3 goalies for that reason.

When I was stationed at Ramstein at the far end of our hangar which we shared with the crew chiefs there was this small single room building that had lockers along the walls at some point unknown a foosball table wound up in there.Everyone would go in there during breaks or while they where waiting for their plane to arrive and play often there would be 10 or 11 different games running each day because everyone was on the move so much so we would write the scores for each game on the walls to keep track every year or so when space ran out we painted the walls again.Sometimes even pilots would come and play and once in a blue moon even a general officer would play round or two.
