A Novel For Free

Shortly after finishing Kingmaker, I started working on a novel that included the voyage and secret mission of a XXI U-boat at the end of WWII. The result was The Gelwitz Cipher. The story was based on a secret code, research by a professor and the above mentioned voyage.

I was almost finished with it when I found out that a book with the same premises had already been published. Well, rather than be accused as a copy cat, I placed the manuscript in the proverbial drawer.

Recently, a friend suggested rather than let the manuscript rot let your readers have it for free. I immediately thought of Subsim.

If there is interest, I will post weekly one or two chapters of this thriller in which Val Orloff, a WWII historian comes across The Gelwitz Cipher. This find, instead of bringing him fame makes him a target for assassination.

Please state your preference in the poll.

Caveat: The novel has not been professionaly edited.

OK, but lacking the poll.

Is it possible for you to have a thread to put it in where no comments would be allowed? Makes for much easier reading.

I don't read fiction as a rule, I'm reading Das Boot at the moment which is one of the first fiction books I've read in a while, the previous one was about a year ago and was The Cruel Sea.

I'm still waiting to buy Kingmaker from Amazon, don't know what's stopping me so far is does sound great from the snippets I've read onine. Always looked forward to Balz's adventures, even shorebound (for a while), and I look forward to reading this, too.

But I don't read fiction.

This actually makes me jump at the read a little more.

Also, being a tad musically inclined, I may have had on an occasion or two the experience of having a finished product in hand only to discover that it possessed an eerie similarity to someone else's finished product. Thing to remember is that while it might be better not to release yours, it doesn't lessen the value of what you've created.

So yes, I'd be very interested in reading this!

Brag, of course I would be going to read all of it. I think, as mentioned above, it is a good idea to make it "read only" for better reading.

Maybe you could have an arrangement with the boss here?

I'm usually not much for fiction, but it sounds interesting. I appreciate your willingness to share your writing with the SH3 community. My hat is off to you, Sir (and my bald noggin exposed).

You said the magic word around here Brag. FREE !!!

I bought and read Kingmaker and so far 3 friends have borrowed it to read and all liked so much they bought their own copies.

Yes I would like to read it FREE or not.

I like Herr-Berbunch's idea to lock the thread of comments for a smoother read.

I'm sure Neal would come up with something.

Thx for shareing Brag

I liked you first book; and I am looking forward to reading this one. I think Amazon will let you post it as a free Kendle book, if you so desire.
