Yes Kiel blows, I knew it blew from playing CAOD so I tried to avoid it. My first career I chose the 1st Flotilla, because they were in Wilhelmshaven. When I started over, I had SH3 Commander, and I chose the 1st Flotilla again, and this time they were in Kiel I would probably like Kiel if that Kaiser Wilhelm Canal had been implemented in the game. Hell you might just catch a couple Polish ships in there on Sept 3rd on your way out, and get to bag you a couple targets before you even leave Germany!

Anyway, Hemisent got me thinking about how the transfer request process works. What determines whether your request is approved or not? At the time I requested transfer, I had completed 10 patrols, had about 70,000 tonnes sunk, and about 7,000 spare renown points. I was an Oberleutnant z.s. too, with Gold Leaves to the Knights Cross with Swords and Diamonds. I wonder which of those gets considered when requesting a transfer, since I eventually might transfer to La Spezia for some hot Mediterranean action.

Anyone know? Is it simply your current renown, or the total renown you have earned over your career? Does it cost renown? I didn't pay attention.

I did not even know you could be refused. That's sorta cool I guess. Don't you think the wartime bureaucracy should be somewhat arbitrary?

My own transfer request went off without a hitch. I had less than 3000 renown.

I assume you are talking about the shipping and not the base nursing staff! But then, we all have our reasons. :rotfl:

If I transfer from the 7th fleet in my VIIB to the 1st fleet, will my boat and crew come with me too? (Current career Nov 39).
