So my account is going to expire soon, and due to various reasons, money being one of them, and my cable comopany offering their own DVR's, I want to hack my tivo.
It's a series 2. Has anybody done any hacking on these devices? I know theres some books out there, but has anybody have any experience in retrofitting these things? |

By using the word "hack", I'm asuming it involves something illegal. If so, I'd remove that before a mod spots it.

'Hack' is a common word for modding a electronic device that you own.
You should just Google it, there are bunches of info out there. |

And wouldn't be illegal, since I own the machine. I Actually got it for free, amazon was having a 100% rebate offer... sweet.
Just wondering if it's possible to turn it into a HTPC, store everything on my 2 tb drive on my desktop, and use the wifi to stream. I'd love to get XP installed and running on it if thats at all possible. |
