I don't know, Sharia law might help christian men keep their women under more control. I don't know what religion the man from Laos follows in my neighborhood, but when him and his wife walk around the block, she follows several paces behind. Cultural thing. I've seen women do that in korea all the time. Its expected, at least among those who are traditional. Asia, generally speaking, is still a male dominated part of the world.
