I dont understand. Isnt there controllers in the game for various climate zones/sea types?

I could swear the sea was grey/green one day leaving Lorient and then sky blue when i sailed across the atlantic near Miami FLA.

yes they are - this mode change only the dds for impurity - make him bluish and increase the underwater visibility
