A find from 1992

From Microsoft's Geman Manual for Words 2.0, 1992:

Quote:

Any questions...?

i also remember from MS-DOS:

"Geloeschte Dateien nicht entloeschen ? J/N"

What is this supposed to mean, and what shall i do ?
In german it sounds especially idiotic lol

Google Translate gives me this:

Quote:
By connecting the print style of the document with the print style print style, you can update the stylesheet of the document template. When you connect the print style of a document with the stylesheet a document template, replace the print format definition of the document the same print style definitions of the document template. All print sizes in the stylesheet of the document that are not included in the print style to be added to this.
That's actually not much more confusing than some manuals I've seen that started out in English.

Booh! Frau kaleun destroyed the beauty of the manual!

However I now do understand what they mean

This is exactly the reason why we nowadays use words like "stylesheet" or "template" in german IT-speak, not to sound geeky, but to be able to express what we mean.

Oh, I see, the old traditions aren't good enough for you young hepcats any more. Well let me tell you something, sonny boy - back in my day we used 'Druckformatvorlage' and we liked it.

Any computer manual is messed up, regardless of language.

Ja!

Here's a short clip about the joys of long german words: http://www.bbc.co.uk/languages/germa...ng_words.shtml (in english).
Dunno if I have posted this before, but I am old and senile as I carved Gutenberg's Druckvorlagen!
