In my opinion I really enjoy the "walking around aspect" of SH5 as it gives the good feeling of immersion (in reality I spend most of my patrols either in the Control Room, Forward Captains Bunk, Conning Tower or Bridge..)
Although I do not necessarily use TDWs teleportation function I think it is a great addition to those that are used to it/enjoy it more. I will say however that the time when I most truly enjoy teleportation is in times like when I'm crash diving and I dont want to fully get into the Tower before issuing the command. With teleportation its one click im in, two click im submerging.

![]() Anyway, using teleport in SH5 is a blasphemy. For years we were crying for the days when we will finally break the chains that kept us prisoners in the sub compartments and be able to walk inside the sub. And now people dream about teleporting ![]() Anyway, I respect the multiple choices and ofc everyone should play a game as they like, I have no problem with that. What I hate are those who claim that SH5 is "gamey, arcadish" &stuff but they still use dials and teleport functions. If your really into the sim part of SH5, then play it right and dont cry for dials, teleport, lock on target and all kinda automatism. Use mods that fix SH5, not alter it. And teleporting is not a fix, at least not in a sub sim. |

The technical name for someone who experiences drink induced teleporting is actually a 'Beerwolf'. It's rather similar to a Werewolf, in that you wake up the next day in a hedge with your clothing in tatters, the taste of blood in your mouth and no memory of the previous night except fo the occasional horrifying flashback.

I agree with the OP. It was a fun series while it lasted. And some of the games still have awesome re-playability. That's pretty cool.

I wish there was a submarine school option, kind of like the opening chapters of Iron Coffins. You have to hand SH credit though as a sub sim it is the best. |

So far I am sticking to the different features within the UI (teleporting etc), but hope to get to tactics soon. If anyone else would like to help, that would be great. |

Goblin editor is not needed for the new tutorial feature. All you need is the menu editor so you can reference the menu items. I made the new tutorial feature easy to use. See the \data\Tutorials\TDW_Tutorial.txt file for all commands available. I would also look over my included tutorials to see how I did what I did. |

Teleport: In reality, if the captain is on the bridge and gives the order to dive, the crew goes down the hatch first, and the captain or senior officer goes last and dogs the hatch behind him. The crew does not tell the captain they can't dive because he is still on the bridge. The best compromise I can think of is a hotkey that walks you to the selected compartment. If you click the dive button it should run the crew down the hatch automatically, and then take you after them. Fix that and I'll agree with you. Dials: In reality the captain gives an order and it is carried out. I agree, having the dials, or anything else for that matter, onscreen all the time is not realistic. The best compromise I've seen so far is the "6-Dials Simfeeling" mod for SH3, which has the screen empty at all times but the dials are there as slide-outs when you need them. Fix that and I'll agree with you. Lock On Target: In reality the captain has these two handles on the periscope that let him keep the target centered at all times. It's hard to use the mouse to keep the target centered at the same time you're trying to use it to dial in torpedo settings. Fix that and I'll agree with you.
