Least of all Beck. I think his best claim was when he said he held Washington's First Inaugural Address in his own hands and read it. And then he got dramatic and told about how moving it was (and yes, there were tears; lots and lots of tears).

I know what you mean. I certainly admire many of our nation's past leaders, but don't go as far to get choked up when reading Washington's Inagural Address or the Gettysburg Address, or what-have-you. I consider such displays to be empty, and frankly, tasteless theatrics.

"Oh spare me the theatrics!" came to mind when I saw Boehner break down in tears. We don't need crocodile tears, we don't need any tears at all. We need people in office who will quit screwing around with us and just do their jobs.

Exactly what I was thinking too. My second thought was to imagine the uproar on this forum if Nancy Pelosi had done it. But it was Boehner, so he gets a pass.

Boehner's reaction may have looked hokey but I think it was sincere. Men don't cry that easily.

But Boehner is Catholic and a smoker....so perhaps that is it.

MSNBC is about to go off the air due to long term pathetic ratings and after losing money year after year they are desperate to try anything to improve ratings.

what do reality shows do when they need higher ratings? they create drama over some stupd rediculous BS and this stupidity seams to be just that.

Don't be so cynical, they were real tears.The man catches a lot of flak but has lived the "American Dream" in the truest since so when it all hit him that he after many years will he most likely be Speaker of the House in addition to the emotion of knowing they can stop the crap thats been going on, it overwhelmed him.Rather wrong to assume they were fake.I am not an emotional person, honestly have no cried since I was in middle school except at a funeral, well after it but I would prob cry to if rose up from what he did to where is about to be.I will prob get a little misty eyed when I see Obama lose in 2012, tears of joy you know.

Yes, yes. I'm sure he grew up in a log cabin, learned to read and write by slate and couldn't lie about his father's apple tree. My point is that if someone on Team D had teared up like that, a huge number of you would be calling for his head.
