Olberman suspended

For campaign contributions

They'll have to fire everyone, lol. Or maybe only 80%.

Takeda Shingen 11-05-10 02:02 PM

Meh, someone new will step up. Rush Limbaugh's troubles opened the door for Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck in the radio mainstream. There is an enormous market for political vitriol.

tater 11-05-10 02:03 PM

why is this even an issue to them? Olbermann is opinion, right? They don't call his show "news" I assume.

If it is company policy, then it is company policy.

And when he hired on he agreed to follow the rules.

No sympathy

mookiemookie 11-05-10 02:26 PM

Gotta play by the rules. He knew better and did it anyways. :nope: No sympathy indeed.

SteamWake 11-05-10 02:35 PM

It wouldent have been so bad if he hadent had tried to position himself as 'neutral'. I mean why lie about it?

I agree, but do you really think none of them make any political contributions, even though we know from numerous studies that over 80% of reporters self-describe themselves as democrat" or other "left" affiliation?

I'm sure they do, but as the article says:

Quote:

The contributions may have violated an NBC policy that requires employers of the news organization to obtain permission ahead of any political donations or activities that could be deemed as a conflict of interest. CNN institutes a similar policy.
Olbermann donated without obtaining the permission of his employer. The policy, evidently, is not new so NBC is in the right here.

I despise KO , realize he broke the rules and thus glad he has been punished. However, he should not lose his show over it, hopefully he is just suspended and will return.I enjoy watching his unfair, crazy Left wing moonbat rants and panels full of racists like Eugene Robinson and other moonbats he has as guest on a regular basis, provides a good laugh.

Platapus 11-05-10 04:40 PM

Suspending indefinitely does seem a bit harsh. I wonder if there is more to the story or whether he had a history of doing this?

Takeda Shingen 11-05-10 05:08 PM

Yeah, the indefinite suspension thing makes me think that there may be a history of him being a loose canon in terms of following policy.

Well if you ever wanted a liberal leaning radio talk show he should be your man. He has the voice for it.

Put him on Air America..... oh wait :|\\

He is no better or worse than Beck or Limbaugh.

These are entertainers. People should watch them for entertainment purposes only. No one should be considering any of these actual authorities on political issues. :nope:
