I am talking about adapting the occlusion maps and textures from SH5 and using them to re-skin the life boats and people from the old mod. Seems like we should be able to do that. We don't have to use something specifically made for a life boat is what I am saying. For instance look up the files wood_box.dds and wood_box_N.dds in the SH5/data/Textures/TNormal/tex folder. That is just one of many wood textures and maps that we already have. What I am suggesting might be making things way more complicated then they need to be though.

That looks really weird - good res models of the survivors and then a liferaft that looks like it's from the 80s. Perhaps it's meant to match that crewman who looks like he's about to go to an 80s disco?

Yeah, I am surprised that John Travolta is not on that raft. Anyway, I am once again blown away by something that is just sitting around in the files unused.

it doesn't strike me as that odd. From what I've seen in the files it appears they've already thought about an expansion/add-on. It's like they coded most of it in already so it's ready to be used.

I would have to agree. I have looked at basically all of the texture files included, and there are a lot of unused ones that hint at possible future add-ons. However, I am still surprised that John Travolta was not on that boat

The cfg files from SH4 list:

CrewComplement=XXX
SurvivalRate=XXX
SurvivalPercentage=XXX

XXX being a number.

SH5 cfg files do not have this.
Try adding them and see what happens.
