It is good to see sanity for a change instead of trying to sell a bunch of DRM BS.

Thats a fantastic read!
Attract customers and care for them should be #1 Priority!

Now all we need to do is to translate it to french and send it to Ubisoft Montreal, if everyone does this they have to read it. Or we can do it the western europe kind of way: civil action! We could glue it in the thousands at Ubisoft HQ.

You should have the thread renamed.
There is no Dev Team left from what I gather.

Officially there are about 400 employees at Ubisoft Romania. Guess they have other things on their minds than SH5.

Im actually into research right now, it would be nice to get a grip on how many real sub-fans there are out there. Who wants our money?
Perhaps it could be possible to calculate just how many individual active subsimers we have, on a monthly basis etc...

At least some of those are busy designing HAWX2. Supposedly not the same ones that were working on SH5 though.

It's clear that the lead producer for Silent Hunter 5 has moved on from the game completely and Ubisoft's Community Developer has been essentially MIA since the game shipped so there's probably not many left, if any at all, officially working on the product.

I just read that blog post kylania and I'm re-posting it in this reply. I think it's important for people to know how much it takes from a person to be even a small part of the team. Sure woke me up, that's for sure.

According to Wikipedia Ubi Romania was downsized sometime ago from 400 employees to 50 key specialists. I suspect that this happened shortly after Romania joined the EU and wages were brought more in line with the rest of Europe.

Let's hope Alexandru returns to the world of subsim development at some point, he seems to have the kind of integrity and passion for the genre so lacking in his employer.

Btw, where you see that insult, I see irony.

I mean WTF !?

I've been disappointed the first day I tried SH5, the next day I got over it (this is only a game after all).

I think this game can become really great if given enough time and support (of course by a lot of modding).

I've made several donations to subsim, and I would even make donations to some modders team if that would be possible (some guys here know I would).

Summer has come and I don't plan to upgrade my computer now, but once I'll make a complete upgrade, I'm gonna give my humble contribution to the modding community.

And you accuse me of trolling??

----

...and about you?

This is not an insult, I'm serious, after more than 3 months do you have anything else to say than:

- You don't want to buy SH5. (DRM and all that)

- It's unfinished (and it won't be finished tomorrow, so I don't see the point of keeping repeating it over and over).

- You hate it (and you already said that danger from the deep will be the best subsim, so it's pretty obvious you don't think SH5 has any future).

I repeat, this is not an insult, I'm serious, do you (and some other posters) have anything else to say than that in this forum???

This constant battle and finger pointing does more harm then good.

I'd love to see all those involved in a Bar some nite.
Any bets on how many would walk out?
And how many would be carried out?

It's a freaking Game for Gosh sakes!

Don't make me give you all a time out!
