1. http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/t...748#7621081748

2. Just hang around the area, maybe sink a ship near it.

1.After you order "man on the deck gun" go to the bridge and use binoculars(mouse wheel).Aim at the target and press "space" i think. That should be it.
2.I don't have explanation for this.Right now I'm on the "Blockade of Germany"
and I can't find any ships too,try using hydrophone.

Yup Binocs and space bar will assign the target to the deck gun.

Just make sure you get your wo to order 'man the deck gun' first (if he can) otherwise you wont be able to get the jokers off the gun unless you dive

You didn't read my link above I guess. Surfacing works just as well, if not better, than diving to get them off the gun.

Either way its a silly work around.

"Surface the boat !" 'But sir were already surfaced.... oh ... you mean secure the deck gun... aye aye."

F5 mans and de-mans (?) the deck gun - if Dieter's in a sufficiently good mood to allow it. If not, one can hop down either ladder on each side of the conning tower, "walk" to the deck gun and click on it when it's highlighted. This means YOU'RE using the gun, but it WILL man it as well. If you don't want to do the shooting, hit, "ESC" and grab your binoculars. As ever, sight the target, hit Spacebar to mark it - and the guys'll start banging away.

Good thing in SH5 -- the boys are MUCH better shots than in previous versions. HOWEVER, as the war progresses, one'll have less and less use for the deck gun as your counterparts on armed freighters/tankers are EVERY bit as accurate. Plus, there's an AI failure (AGAIN!) that allows your beloved boat to be sunk by MACHINE GUN FIRE! Early on, it bounces off the hull. Later, it kills the boat.

Kraznyi "October":

COULD have been a rapid-fire cannon, but, judging from the tracers, it was a machine gun. Besides, even in THIS era, I don't believe we have artillery capable of firing 500+ rounds/minute!
