The records hold more than one instance of a captain reporting a sinking, even swearing he saw it go down, and the ship limped into port two days later. I too just assume I was wrong, and call it bad luck.

This is not a major loss but I would still like the game to account for the 3 sinkings instead of 2.In my experience this is the first time I have encountered this behaviour.
Any ideas what went wrong here and how I can edit the game (via patrol editor?) to correctly display the 3 sinkings? If this can't be done then at least I have all my patrol notes on paper confirming my kills.

Thanks.

sometimes saving in wrong enviroment does this. it has happened to me recently. also a mod conflict could mess about with the tally.

i had cranked up 20+ thousand tons after dispachting 3 black swans and having the convoy to myself at leasure - north of scotland. when i sent my patrol log in i saw the score, i was very pleased - took a screenie of it too. then the patrol logs were sent again after more sinkings but did not register on the screen. i ended up coming home with about 15.000.

i had saved between the black swan sinkings and chasing after the convoy, they were close and i suspected there might be a problem, and there was!

I would suspect something related to the Save function.
Maybe Jimbuna can figure it out.

It must be down to the sinking time.
I've waited by a ship sinking for 24 hours (because I'm cheap and I husband my torpedoes), and its sinks and I still get credit. It might actually be time compression, but who knows?
