What is this, communist Russia?

I didn't quite realize how unbelievable Ubisoft actually is. People throw around the term "propaganda" pretty loosely, but this is out of control ! This post is off the Ubisoft official forums: "exceptional demand" Try Denial of Service attack. How much horsesh*t are they going to feed us?

Posted Sun March 07 2010 12:41 Sun March 07 2010 12:41Due to exceptional demand, we are currently experiencing difficulties with the Online Service Platform. This does not affect customers who are currently playing, but customers attempting to start a game may experience difficulty in accessing our servers. We are currently working to resolve this issue and apologize for any inconvenience.

Keep in mind their native language is not english.

Also its not at all un-expected for them to try to paint things in a good light or spin. They are after all a corporation out to make money.

If you understand how a DOS attack actually works "exceptional demand" is a pretty accurate description.

Hmmm... what hyperbole. In communist Russia they would make you work for free and kill you if you posted a protest. You're ok, I think you'll make it.

You are joking, right? Why would I use that term if I had no clue what it was?

You see, that's how political spin works. Technically, Clinton never lied since he didn't have sex with Lewinsky. "Besides, what IS the definition of 'is' "
Ubi's description is a very accurate description. It is also a very deceptive description since it implies demand for the PRODUCT, not demand for AUTHENTICATION of the product.

You don't see how that statement is pure propaganda? It makes people think the complete opposite of reality.
Perception = people love the product, its awesome, sales are so high we are having trouble keeping up with demand
Reality = we are undergoing a denial of service attack, very few of our consumers can play the game, the forums are exploding with negative comments of legitimate consumers who can't play their games

In communistic Russia (USSR) there were no fools, was not DRM, and Ubisoft. I advise such nonsenses more not to write. Excuse for bad English language.

Reading the various threads I am actually surprised how really crappy the DRM system is. I'm also surprised that a few Ubifans survive.

The people who bought the DRM infected game remind me of Chilean eathquake victims.
