I wish I had bookmarked it. Sorry.

If I run across it again I will def post it up.
That one's over at the SH forum, I believe it was a Doctor complaining about the required net connection and stated the BB manager couldn't believe it they would do that to a game and gave him his money back..First, being a Doctor, you think he would be smart enough to read the requirements where the game states it needs a connection...as for the store manager that took it back, he obviously is doing a poor job if he didn't know DRM is becoming a standard.

Where exactly does it say that on the gamecase?

Depending on where you live and where you bought the product, there may be what is known as an implied warranty that the product must be of merchantable quality or fit for purpose.

I know where I am there are consumer protection laws which means that if you sell someone an item which does not work, regarless of your company policy, you must give the customer a refund or offer to replace the product with one that does work.

Check this info http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Implied_warranty
But don't accept this as legal advice. Regardless if you talk it up in store the spotty teenager behind the counter and his manager are likely to give up if you sound like you know what you are talking about.

I write and negotiate contracts for a living and these sorts of things are common practise in many jurisdictions particularly in the US and Australia.

Yes, and every EULA contains a disclaimer against Implied Warranties.

The only way that works is if you live in a state (or whatever, if not in the US) that disallows Implied Warranty disclaimers.

That said I have forced returns on particulalry bad/broken game software despite company policies and disclaimers by engaging the local state Attorney General. If you're dead set on returning a broken game and willing to put in the time, there's usually a way.

Contrary to a lot of opinions here I have actually got refunds on several products I was not satisfied with or simply did not work,to include Black Shark.Contact the vendor, state your case and see what happens.Doesn't hurt to try.

thanks fellas

It will indeed be quite a process, i'll keep you guys informed.

As of now, Stardock/Impulse will not give a refund unless they are contacted by Ubisoft via email authorizing a refund. I emailed Ubi technical support and am currently waiting on a response. The only thing i can hope for now is good will on Ubisoft's part.

Hahaha yeah my name has nothing to do with my financial status. I am quite broke and unemployed. My old gamer tag back in '99 was DaddyMorBucks (Annie) But i changed it to something easier to call out over comms (Mo)

Kinda funny since i complain about being broke lately online and people always bring up my name.

[EDIT]
I am aware this game will be awesome after some months/year, however right now im really itching for a new game i can get sucked into so it would just be nice to have my money back so hopefully i can get a good game or at least a decent couple rounds at the bar.

I simply don´t understand why you were thinking this game was bug free.
If I did ask for a refund because of bugs for every game I own, well I didn´t have any games left.
Anyway, good luck.

Now that's an understatement, better to say these bugs are game free!

My first thought was

But once I got over that, the best way I find, is to say (Like most people here it seems ) that your wife or girlfriend bought the game for you, but you either don't want it, doesn't meet your system requirements etc or something like that.

Very, very rarely will somewhere not let you return a gift item, at least for store credit.

But it depends on your company's policy on returns, I've had games from the olden days that had a bug that flat out wouldn't run without a patch (This was before I had the internet) due to a runtime conflict, and wasn't allowed to return it, basically unless the disc is cracked or not working on their test PC.

It really depends on your home country. A lot of European countries have "anti-lemon" laws for software but places like the United States consider this a foreign concept (pardon pun.)

If the game literally will not run then you stand a good chance. If you don't like it then you will need luck.
