Light a cigar, pour a brandy, read a book and relax while Ubi tries to connect you to the Game Boss.

Default yeah

get wasted then you see permanent smoke screen.. cigar or no cigar
no seriously, did they say anything about it?

i mean, sh3 is great, sh4 is good, but playing without smoke screen that was important or even the most important part in naval combat, it is a bit silly?
then it is the wind? then the sea conditions?
fuel consumption, flanking the convoy, got caught in ship battle but cannot see s..t because of the smoke screen.. then some ship accidentally gets blown away because the wind blew off the screen.. and you realize in the dark its your team hurting.. etc.
ideas ideas.. you know all that stuff you imagine when you read about those battles..
any news abotu stuff liek that?
or just plain march..

pour that brandy in your monitor and you will see the most realistic smoke screen ever, complete with smoke smell

I've read a few books on the subject, and I don't think I've ever read of a submarine laying a smoke screen.

I also don't recall ever reading of an escort laying a screen to hide a convoy from a submarine.

I wish I could remember where I read this, but there was some mention in a book about a sub or U-boat slipping away in the diesel smoke of its engines.

Though if you're a sub and your engines are smoking enough to provide you some cover, I'd think something was wrong with them.

I would also think that a submarine producing that much diesel smoke would be easier to follow, not harder. Harder to see from behind, yes, but easier to keep track of while waiting for reinforcements.

I read it here. If it was mentioned in "Iron Coffins" and "Das Boot", then it must be fact.
