Was that AVP1 or 2? I didn't like AvP 2 deathmatch so much as the species were unbalanced, particularly the predators which were totally invisible if they did not move and had a whole stack of advantages (the shoulder gun was almost impossible to evade).

Anyhow an AVP1 multiplayer story from me. It was TDM me vs 2 guys I knew, I was playing marine (they refused to let me play alien with em ), and they both were predators, the three of us were on teamspeak so I could hear them talk. Anyhow I decided to break the natural order and go hunting for them, and started playing psychological games with them. I would hit and run them, set up ambushes (with spider mines), lure them and confuse them with random taunts and gunfire, and listen to their confused chatter on Teamspeak and once in a while laugh at them. At the end of the match they won, just barely in combined kills, I was one short from tieing them. I laughed my self silly listening to their worried whispers on teamspeak when playing them.

Naturaly they wouldn't let me play as an alien as I had already individualy terrorized them as one before several times.

That was AvP2. And yeh, the Predator was pretty overpowered. The disc, the blast thing and the shoulder cannon combined with the ability to see both marines and aliens clearly was a huge advantage over the other species.

yay some face biting goodness
I can just see it now though , the mad AG here in South Australia will try to get the decision over turns - the Idiot actually tried to get Modern Warfare 2 changed to refused classification 2 Weeks after it was released

On behalf of Aussie gamers I sigh with relief. I was thinking of importing it because the OFLC fails at rating games.

Though on the plus the government recently released the discussion paper on games ratings in Aus. Hopefully this will finally get Atkinson to wake up and realize we need an R+18 for games.

Weren't they already pushing for that? Think I read it was 1 person holding it back, because the vote had to be unanimous (Atkinson?).

Yep , that's the problem - one person is scr@wing over the whole country because he thinks that WII family games should be the only type sold here
Whats stupid about Atkinson is , there were polls taken in most of the media here when the announcement was made about the R18+ discussion paper for games , most of them had over 30000 votes and 95-96% were in favour of it , and he reckons there's only a minority wants the r18+ games
We've got an election here in South Australia next year , hopefully the Moron gets booted.

If he has a habit of "misinterpreting" public opinion like that, I'm sure he will.

Aliens vs Predator: The Fancy Edition

Seems they're gearing up for a big release. At least the devs are confident.

I wouldnt mind having that facehugger dangling from my ceiling. (or build somekind of spring system to it and mail it to Hunter so it jumps at his face when he opens the box )

They've definitely played the other games as I'm quite sure that the Hive map you get with the pack is ripped from AvP, where it was an extra level called Refinery, based on the Fiorina 161 from Alien 3. Also, the outpost sounds and looks like it's been taken from AvP2.

You would know better than me, I'm not really up to speed on the Alien trivia. Darn, I really need to see those movies again.

That model is a nice touch, right? I must say I get a good feeling about this game. Rebellion did make 2 or 3 Alien vs Predator games before, so I'd say they did more than just play them.

Owww right, they made them.

Tho, the last one they did, the expansion to AvP2 (Tribal Hunt) was a huge flop and got bashed pretty badly in reviews saying it forgot the stealthy stuff and went for a shooter. Hopefully they learned something from it.
