This is similar to SH4. They are in Library/shipparts/Cargos.dat so yes they are cargo.

I have one on an island as a target in the IJN Campaign but it does not move.

there is also some kind of armored car at the back of the picture.

are trucks moving ? if yes then we could swap them for a tank.

any way to make them fire at you if they see you ? like a coastal battery ?

There are several different vehicles in there, but they are just cargo. None of them move or shoot. I am not saying they couldn't be MODed to do those things, just that they don't as they are now. And they are so small you can hardly see them when you are off shore in a sub.

Japanese Tanks

I could be wrong, but the Japanese tanks in the foreground of that 3d model preview shot appear to be Type 2 Ka-Mi's with the fore and aft flotation pontoons removed. Also, I think the US tanks are a later-war Sherman variant; maybe a M4A3.

This is a japanese light Tank model from battlefield 1942, called Chi-Ha.

Isn't a moving truck a part of the docks at Pearl Harbour? Maybe this model could be used to create a moving and shooting Tank.

Yes, there are moving vehicles at Pearl, but they are part of the "Map Location" data for the Harbor. They can't be added like a ship with waypoints, they use an animation I think, and it is all part of the harbor package. A bit more involved than I want to mess with for what I need them for. Basically I am just using them as 'targets' so the BBs will shell the beach for an invasion.
A couple of shots (no pun intended) of my testing.

nice shots !

it's true that at this distance we don't need more detailed tanks, but what I thought was a little more variety : tanks on more islands etc.. I know I always want more

Type 89B I-Go Otsu – Tsuchiura Tank Museum, Tsuchira (Japan) – Running c.

surviving chi ha tanks (nice pictures see above, location of tanks) :

I'll sink some in the ocean and they will rust up and get covered with sediment and barnacles and it won't matter what they look like.

But why shouldn't land units work with animations or carry guns? It sure would look good.

IJA tanks moving down towards the beachhead at Guadalcanal and firing their puny guns at ships !

but yes, moving around would be nice.

then again seeing them on a beach somewhere and shooting at them with your DG... would be nice

keltos

Disabled Type 97 Chi Ha Tanks on the Matanikau River Sandbar
Stan Jersy adds: "The head on the tank was from the 4th Tank in the 'crossing' photo. (Left) The first tank was the leader, the second tank was the adjutants tank, the third was the 3d Tank, 1st Platoon, the next was 3d Tank, 2d Platoon, (Right) The fourth tank- was a light tank (3d Tank, 1st Platoon). It is believed there were two bodies in that tank. Credit: USMCDate: October 24, 1942

Tank History
Part of the 1st Independent Tank Company and was originally the 4th Company, 2d Tank Regiment with 108 men. The unit landed on Guadalcanal during the night of October 14, 1942 from the Sasago Maru (1st Platoon) and with the balance on the Sakido Maru with 104 men. One was KIA and two WIA in the landing and one tank destroyed (disabled?) by gunfire from an unknown US warship.

Let me see, Captain Keltos of the Imperial Japanese Navy aboard the Jyunsen B submarine, shooting at Japanese tanks with his deck gun. I can see a be-heading in your future.
