long time

hello everyone

It's ben a while since i was here... let me explain quickly what happened...
i have a conflict on my PC. I had to reinstall the game some time ago due to some conflicts of MODS no big deal you would say, but..... something went wrong with the uninstall it would seem, because everytime wenn i want to install the game again (boxed version) it says i already have the game installed and i cannot install again now. I can however choose the uninstall button. but if i click that nothing will happen so i'm kinda lost in what to do atm except install the PC new. But that is to much work with all the stuff on it now. I hope i get a new PC not so long from now so i can return

btw i looked in the registry for all files that were left behind from SH4 and deleted them but it changes nothing.

So i go on a long break now till i can fix this problem i'll be watching the forums from time to time for any new updates etc. so that if i return i have all the latest updates already downloaded.

cya all and thanks for all the help in the past.

Rowddy.

Did you delete your SH4 Folder in My Documents?

Welcome back by the way

thanks guys for the response i just found them well i did everything you guys explained before i read this only i had no back-up cous i was making a fresh install so the back-up was already gone but i manually deleted everything from the register that had remotly connections with SH4. and it still doesn't work i found out that the couse is the V1.5 add-on it didn't unstalled correct i think and now my PC thinks it's still installed which it ain't. i also cannot find anywhere in the registry's anymore couse i deleted it all
but i still get that same message that SH4 cannot be installed because there is a V1.5 installed already. And that completes the circle i'm in atm. the funny part is wenn i get that message i get an option which i should click to uninstall that but wenn you click it i get an error. So i need to wait a few more months at least before my new and way better PC comes

Thanks for your time though to respond to mail, i appriciate that.

I take it you're trying to install V1.4...
Try a disk cleanup and defrag, then install. There might be a temporary file lying around - This should hopefully get rid of it.

I use teh crap cleaner to clean up leftovers
from application uninstalls etc.

Works pretty well, maybe even too well sometimes.

(...sorry for the foul language but it is what it is.)

not sure if it will work but try to install the game on another pc then copy every file in all the places you learned of, then copy those back to your pc and see if it works.

if it doesnt it may have the needed files to properly uninstall everything this time and then you can reinstall the game.

your error was probably still having mods installed when you went to uninstall the game.

another point is if you have sh3 installed it may be using shared files it is confusing for sh4 and if you have sh3 try removing that too and see if it works.

every time i had issues it was a leftover "ubisoft" folder in "my computer/ c drive/ program files" doing it.
