Default 2 quick noob questions

G'day folks. Haven't played in a long time and just re-installed the game.
I am running the gwx 3.0

1. The colour of the targeting triangle when looking at the target via UZO or Para..
Does it mean seomthing? Seen Yellow and Orange.. and Red once.

2. I've read how people target different parts of the "target". Assuming the triangle is where you are aiming how do you move it while locked on the target?

Many thanks!

1. The targeting triangle color is an indication of how much your torpedo has to angle after you fire it. Notice the gyroangle indicator to the right of your periscope? The triangle turns green if your gyroangle is between 355 and 005 degrees (for front tubes) meaning that the torpedo doesn't have to turn much in order to make the shot, i.e. you have a better chance of hitting what you're shooting at.

2. If you have manual targeting turned off, you don't have to use the lock feature when aiming at a target. The TDC auto-updates as you move the periscope or UZO. Therefore, if you want to hit, say, the first mast of a steamer, you just simply put your periscope/UZO crosshairs over that first mast and fire.

Welcome to SubSim!

Mookimookie, whjy you gotta explain it so darn difficultly?

Red triangle = Not good changes to have the torpedo to hit in proper angle, prolly miss or bounces off.
Yellow thingy = average cahnge to have hte torp to hit properly
Green yadda yaa = good change for a torpedo to hit correctly and blow the **** out of him!

Maybe that means that on average you will have poor chances.
