Does the Voice language in german...

Does the Voice language in german, seem more complete to you? Its just an observation that ive been unable to confirm. That observation being that the crew speech in german is more complete, meaning more active, then in english. In german the game seems like it will vocalize more. Anyone else notice this?

Theorizing for a minute it would make sense. I think ubisoft did the german voices first, and the english second. Meaning they probably spent more time on the german vocalizations then the english ones later on when maybe they were being rushed?

I've never even heard the English version, I selected German from the beginning seeing as how they're U-Boats. I must switch to English sometime to see if you're right - your explanation sounds logical though!

Ive used both modes off and on. Primarly the english one because alot of times ill go away from the keyboard and turn the speakers up so i can hear (and understand) what's being said from the next room :P

Just the same though, i have to wonder. I have this half backed idea to rename the speech directories and "trick" the game into thinking its speaking german. The theory being theres a master sound file that initializes the audio.. one audio language being coded in more then the other... in theory anyway.

I don't know german, but I play the game in german because the enlgish version voice-acting irritates me. Maybe the german acting is just as bad, but to me it sounds authentic (because I don't know german) whereas the english version immediatly sounds "fake" to me.

Same here, the English voice sounds too clinical and contrived; it has a better feel to it in German; the only thing is I'd like to hear the expression 'Los' when I fire a fish. Does anybody know if there is a Mod done for this and, if so, what it would be compatible with ? Cheers.

Kinda like the "U-571" movie. Why do the American movie makers(not to make it personal, I'm American) not hire good English/German actors. Even some parts of "Hunt For Red October" were bad acting(vocally).

Even so, the cheers sound effect is absolutely horrible. Atleast they could have added 4 or 5 more guys to record "Yeah", not one guy. And whats with the GW's voice over, one of the crew members has a head cold(coughs, sniffs, and clears throat every 60 seconds).

I have an idea. Go into your Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII\data\Sound\Speech (German voice sounds) folder, and find all the "los!" files, copy them over the corresponding files in the Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII\data\Sound\Speech_En (English voice sounds) folder. Just make sure you backup the files in the English folder in case you want to go back. I have no idea if this would work, but it should be worth a try.

You have no idea how bats#!t insane that drives me. I'm glad someone else noticed it. If any of the GW team is reading, please take this out in GWX!!!!
