A lot of people have said that a lot of times in the past. At this point in time the real question is, how would you know? We are already trapped inside our own minds, with no way of truly understanding what others are thinking. With that in mind I don't see how it really matters.

http://themindunleashed.com/2015/02/...ever-will.html The eye cannot watch itself. Zen understands this better than many academics nowadays. My question would be: what is it that thinks: "eye"? Does it start and does it end somewhere, this thing sombody (who?) names "eye"? Can "eye" and "watching" be separated? Is there this separation betwee3n subject and object, thing and process? Maybe we should not say "we have eyes". Maybe we should say "we are the watching itself". What is it that watches, then?

Steve are correct it have ben discussed before and if so, what can we do about it
It also made gave a little smile-´cause I was thinking. There are people who can't stand some of our politicians and if we truly live in a simulated world, then perhaps those people may think: Why did those programmer put those politicians into the equation I also like Skybird's approach on this subject. not sure one can say the programmer placed politicians into the equation. I think what was programmed into the system is vast number of possibilities available for us to choose from (cause and effect) that can produce politicians.
The law of causation is the philosophy of science. I think you will find most major religions will agree with such philosophy too. Each of us is responsible for the choices we make. Last edited by Rockstar; 11-24-19 at 08:49 PM. |
