Has anyone seen the wave mechanics in Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag? With heavy wind and weather, you can even ride and hide between the wave troughs. The rolling of the waves is sweet. If it were somehow possible to get that with SH5, it'd be brilliant. Maybe I'm just dreaming, but if it's possible, man oh man!
![]() The weather and sky looks good too, but then again, it is a more modern engine than SH5 of course. Here are a few youtube videos to give you an idea. You can ignore the content itself if you'd like since it's the waves we're looking at. Not sure if there's any swearing in any of them, so be aware ahead of time. Cheers! |

I've got it
It does look nice i must say Might give it another try with new gpu in and see if i can max it Yep, i guess this engine is old hat now and pretty scratty coded by reading bits n bobs on the forum Maybe another game dev will see sub/ship sims as a niche market and come up with something, doubt it though, majority of gamers want cod style face shooters or car stealing games ![]()

Water mechanics have really come along way with the advent of DX10/DX11 era cards. I just with the actual programs were more simmy rather than gamey.

Unfortunately , I don't think that rolling waves like those are possible in SH5.
Maybe in some future incarnation of SH games which will probably be connected to submarine simulation as much as that sailboat over there...
