MOD Order list?

I'm new to the forum and have spent the last few days playing without any MODS. Last night I downloaded the game after uninstalling it because I read somewhere that in order to use the MODs, you have to have a clean slate. NP.
I purchased a subscription on this forum to get access to SHVModsMega-PackAugust2013.7z

1st thing I did was update it to 1.2 and then zip everything in the folder so that I'll always have a clean copy.
I installed the Generic Mod Enabler and had it take a SnapShot.

1st Q: What mods should I start with?
2nd Q: What is the order that the mods should be inserted into the Generic Mod Enabler?
3rd Q: Does the campaign that I want to use the MODs with have to be set to 100% realistic?
4th Q: In the Real Navigational Tutorial video, the guy uses a 'Teleport' mod that takes him directly to different locations/stations on the sub, anyone know what mod this is?

I know these are NOOB questions, but I did do a search for MOD List Orders and didn't come up with anything really useful concerning the actual order that they have to be loaded.

Thanks in advance.

I suggest the same order for you. Leave out any you don't want, but keep the rest in order. That is so the files they change are not overwritten by later mods - thus losing any of the intended changes.

You are not forced to use 100% realism by any of the mods. If you are familiar with SH3 or SH4, you may remember that a new campaign had to start with just about any mod added. Not so with SH5. Most of the mods are friendly. As long as you are adding mods that alter the sounds and graphics of the game, you can proceed without a new campaign.

Read the text files (readme's) of the individual mod creators. I have had no problems with this list, using it for months.

Happy Hunting

MODS, clean slate- as in fresh install and no mods enabled?? - then OK, otherwise I don't know what you mean here.

Same forum that you posted to (SH5 Mods Workshop). Get newer updates from [inf] sobers mega mod. It is a sticky, meaning it is near the top of the forum.
1st thing I did was update it to 1.2 and then zip everything in the folder so that I'll always have a clean copy.

?? zip everything in the folder ?? - if you are talking about mods here, then no good. You need to uncompress mod to a tempoary location, look at folder structures for mods. See post #3 of my signature link below which will give you details of what I am atlking about. Download the JSGME pdf from post #1 and READ the documentation to get an overview of how to mod correctly.
I installed the Generic Mod Enabler and had it take a SnapShot.
Good idea.
1st Q: What mods should I start with? Your choice. Depends on how powerful your computer is, too.
2nd Q: What is the order that the mods should be inserted into the Generic Mod Enabler?[inf] sobers mega mod, or Fifi's "My mega mod compilation" or Sjizzle's mod compilation. [inf] sobers mega mod is the longest running, the one I use and is kept current.
3 Q: Does the campaign that I want to use the MODs with have to be set to 100% realistic?
No, your choice.
I know these are NOOB questions, but I did do a search for MOD List Orders and didn't come up with anything really useful concerning the actual order that they have to be loaded.
Thanks, thanks for looking. I say that because we are all volunteers here, and we get new subsimmers who want to do no work to look for things.

We are glad to help. Thanks for asking. All we ask, is for every future mod you are curious about, please read any documentation first then try it out, and then ask questions.

Thanks in advance.
SonZ
Go to the open horizons thread. It is a great campaign mod and the only one that is a campaign mod. You get to play to 1945. A new version just came out, a few bugs have been reported and patches are in progress. Read the beginning of thread, at least the very fist two posts to see what it is about. Read last few pages of posts to read about bug/patch issues being worked on.

I run 2 websites myself. 1 for a program and the other is for a clan in WoT's. I do the 'live support' for the program and I know from first hand experience how lazy people can be when it comes to getting a program up and running and I've had some real duzzies. I had 1 client come in for help and OMG, after several minutes of trying to help him, I asked him to open windows explorer and open 'My Documents'. His next words were... and I kid you not... "What that? I don't have that."
I've been going over these forums for several days now, trying to gleam everything I can, so as not to 'be that noob' that nobody wants to respond to.
I may not be Tech savvy with a lot of stuff and to be honest, with the SH5ModsMega-PackAugust2013.7z.... it's kind of daunting. Which is why I asked about the order that they should be loaded....

But thanks for the input guys. I made the post and went to get lunch and by the time I got back, there were 2 responses.
As to the Zip file.... after updating SH-V, I made a .RAR file of everything in the folder before installing anything. It takes me 4-5 hrs to get the program downloaded, as I live in Lima, Peru. I did this, so that I can delete everything and start from scratch again, if needed.

Cheers guys, and thanks again.

Yes, the bonus mod megapack can be daunting!! Snapshots, mep files, versions, etc. Many newbies have asked why isn't there an all in one mega mod to download. They did not want to believe us veterans as we tried to explain why. Some newbies have tried and gave up creating a megamod, all talk no action.

Mods are constantly being updated, takes a long time to create and upload something that big. As modders, a lot of us do not believe the SH5 game is where it can be the best yet. We are trying with the time we have. Give us a few more years. Than perhaps another megamod can be done. Rongel is working on one now, though, with current mods out there.

I hope you have a non-Steam version of game. If so, you can use SH5 patcher, too. Fixes many bugs. Helpful how-to-do links at bottom of post #1. Sjizzle how-to-do link has instructions for most current patchers. Can be made into a mod, but at every new version it has to be reconstructed. Not as bad as it sounds once you know how to do it!!

Another helpful hint:
Disable all mods. Make a DVD of all files/folder of stock (some people call it vanilla) SH5 patched to 1.2.

Helps when major modsoup errors happen. Much easier than uninstalling SH5 game, shutting down computer for registry issues. and then reinstalling game later.
