Hello, My name is Mike K, and I live in Fort Wayne, IN. This is my first post here.
I'm having odd problems with Dangerous Waters, and the same thing is happening with my Sub Command. If I have "show truth" turned OFF in the "options," I can track and sink ships and subs ok. But what happens is that once I sink one, the ship sinks, but a "new" ship sort of splits off from the sinking ship. In other words, the sinking ship "gives birth to" or "clones" a new replica ship, so then I have one ship sinking, and new replica clone ship that appears. Weird! If I have "show truth" turned ON in the "options, then I can track other ships and subs ok. But I cannot assign a torpedo or missle to them, and can only fire in the "snapshot" mode. Any help anyone can give me with these weird things would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mike |

I have had the same thing happen, sunk a contact and another keeps going on same course but the dead unit is still on the map, it isn't always a clone because in sub command I sunk a russian carrier but a destroyer continued on the same course, I assumed it was just that two units were travelling close together that I had not identified and as I only sank one the other carried on.

Yes, that's much the same thing I am experiencing, but unlike you, bertjeck476, it's always the exact same type ship, with no other ship around. Poof! out of nowhere.... Since it's happening with both DW and Sub Command, my best guess is something is off with my computer, or some piece of software is interfering. But my computer works fine in every other way, so I don't know... Last edited by kmike76; 12-17-13 at 06:21 PM. |

I don't know if this is a bug or not, I'll wait and see if you get some replies from people more knowledgeable on this game than I am.

What you're seeing may be your fire control solution for that target. If the target is hit and sunk, the generated solution keeps running until you manually drop the contact. In SHOW TRUTH, generated solution (and platform type) does not show in 3D view mode.

The TRUTH set to ON still works as before, even when turning the 3D off. I can't lock on with any missles or torpedoes. I set up a very simple scenario in mission editor. I had 3 supply ships crossing at a 90 degree angle to an Akula II's course to test the suggestions you gave me, Neptunus Rex. Still, no luck. |
