Otto Sander (Kptl. Phillip Thomsen) passed away
Well, the thread title says it all. The German actor who acted as Phillip Thomsen in Das Boot has passed away today.
Rest in Peace Mr. Sander.  (sorry, couldn't find an English source yet) http://www.tagesschau.de/inland/ottosanders100.html

RIP sir, the interactions between him and Prochnow made the movie, he was utterly convincing as an actor.
I never seen any of his other work, but I recognize greatness when I see it. Thanks for the entertainment Otto. Much appreciated.
