Hi Guys,
![]() Bit of a newbie question here but is there a rule of thumb to the distance at which you can be spotted by a enemy ship whilst you are on the surface in SH3?. In SH5 the ships would have like a ring around them on the nav map to show you there spotting distance. Just want to know if there is a general distance so I know when to dive or if i can stay surfaced for a bit longer ![]() Thanks guys |

Depends on weather, time of day, and sea state, also whether there is radar on the escorts.
There is no constant distance, but generally if you can see them, you may be seen yourself. To minimize this possibility, try to attack at night on the surface and at a depth of 7 meters(decks awash). This is the way I approach it. ![]()
